Welcome to the Writer's Block
Welcome to our world. A world where Farscape rules, and writing is a way of life. We all have ideas on where our favorite show is headed, and lots of ideas on where we'd like it to go. Fan Fiction is an attempt to explain the unexplainable, to explore possibilities, to fill in gaps, or just create a new episode to tide us all over till the real deal comes along. The reasons are many and varied, but the result is some of the best writing you'll ever want to read. There are some great writers amongst the fans and more come along every day. We are hoping that this will be a place for you to come and relax and find out all the information you need to write the very best story you can. Whether you're just starting out or you're an old hand at writing fan fiction.
Here's what's new for September 2002:
Full Circle by Imloco2
Circumstances beyond my control have made this fic rife with irony. Months
ago, a writing challenge was issued. How would you like to see Farscape end.
Write a scene. So I did, and it turned into an episode which turned into a
two parter. It took a long time, with lots of stops and starts, but I finally
finished it. Just in time to hear Farscape had been cancelled. Life is funny
that way. Ha! So, when you get a chance to read it, I hope you can enjoy it.
I'd like to thank my husband for his help. Without him I couldn't have done
it. Literally. I picked his brain unmercifully. Lots of thanks to
aeryncrichton for keeping it readable and talking me down from the lows to
which I had sunk with the ending. :-) And thank you ScapeArtist, Kernil
Crash, Orchidcactus, and Atana_Mirtai for the good suggestions and reviews.
And a shout out to Max for getting me going again, and the damn good quote.
I'm really fortunate to know these people. Just one more way Farscape has
blessed my life.

Now, if you are interested in knowing who to thank or curse for starting fan fiction, here's a primer...
The History of Fan Fiction
-
The Advantages of Fan Fiction
- Truly one of the best pieces I've ever read on why we write fan fiction and why we should. It's an article written in 1997, but totally relevant for today. Very well-written and it's Recommended reading.
-
Slate--Fan Fiction is America's literature of obsession:
- A terrific article to find out the history of fan fiction, the different types of fan fiction, the meaning of fan fiction terms that are used frequently and some of the legalities that you may encounter. Don't let the picture of Kirk and Spock in bed together fool you. LOL It's not about Slash (unless you click on the right button). Really! (To find out what Slash is...Read!)
-
Slate--Confessions of a Spoiler Whore, The Pleasures of Participatory TV:
- Just because I can't resist. A really good article on how the internet has changed the way we 'see' television shows and how much influence 'we' have on how a television show is made.
