This list is currently still under construction, but there are still
some great links for you to check out. If you notice we are missing
a site that you find useful, please

Multimedia Department
Stores
We will be mentioning these sites again where
appropriate, but we thought it would be good to let you know where you
can find one-stop shopping for when you are pressed for time. These
"Department Stores" are certainly wonderful, but don't forget to stop
by the "Specialty Shops" as well. They aren't too expensive at all...
-
Karlsweb
- Great e-zine with lots and lots of amazing graphics. Plus video
covers to down load and illustrated fanfic... It's visually astounding!
-
Farscape/Darkscape
- So much here...screencaps, skins, and if you can't find a wallpaper
to drool over, then you should get your eyes checked!!
-
Farscape Fantasy
- A virtual treasure-trove of multimedia goodies. Screencaps, original
art, and music videos galore to keep you occupied for days.
-
Sanctum of Scorpius
- Consider this on "Scorpi R Us" 'cause it is loaded with all kinds of cool toys. Images, sounds, a gallery, simulations, animations, computer goodies...you name it! Oh, and when you come here, SACC has a whole different meaning. Don't say you weren't warned!
Episode Screencaps

Farscape World
- Dani is a master of, among other things, screencapping. Since the server problems you can now find only Season 1 and then a pick up at Season 4, but the quality hasn't changed an iota.
-
Un4Scene's Hidden Memories
- Well, when you do one thing, you might as well do it well. And
oh, Un4scene does! Some of the best screencaps available--many of
them DVD quality. Up-to-date through season 4.
-
Farscape Fantasy
- There ain't much Dallascaper doesn't have on his site.
But do be sure to wander around the copius amount of screencaps
in Dallas' gallery. You won't be sorry. Up-to-date through season
4.
-
Farscape/Darkscape's Farscape Episode Images
- A great supplement to Farscape/Darkscape--Jackie and Una have
lots of clear images for your perusal. Up-to-date through season
2 and including the final four of season 3. Check out the amazing
job done with "Into the Lion's Den pt.2: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing"...
-
Farscape TV
- Normally we would wait to link to a site until it is complete, but we had to make an exception here with Farscape TV. The handful of episodes from the first 3 seasons that are currently screencapped are stunning--plentiful and crystal clear. Keep an eye on this site (join the mailing list to keep you aprised of updates) because it is a keeper.

tapes, this is the company who produces and distributes them. They
are up-to-date through Season 3. Pretty cool site even without the
FS stuff...
-
ADV Films
- So far only Season 1 (U.S. Version--Region 1) has been released,
but we are sure that ADV will be doing a stellar job with the upcoming
DVDs for seasons 2 & 3.

Chorn and Scorpwanna's Farscape Site
- Plenty of multimedia to be had here. Video clips are broken down

requests.
Print Resources to Keep Your
Scanner Busy
- Farscape Magazine
- As we mentioned over at the Writer's Block, there is no link to Titan Magazines,
publishers of the Farscape Magazine. But if you'd like to subscribe in the
U.S. or Canada, you can either call 1-877-363-1310 or go to the
Express Mag
web site. U.K. and other countries can email Titan
directly. Glossy issues with a plethora of wonderful pictures--even
groovy pull-out posters. Mmmmm...John Crichton: "Centerfold"...
-
Sci Fi Magazine (from the folks at the SciFi Channel)
- Well, if there weren't any Farscape articles and pictures in here
fairly often, then I wouldn't know where to look!
-
Visi-Mag
- All our other favorite genre magazines: Cult Times, Starburst,
TV Zone can be previewed and ordered from this site.

Cinescape
- I'm sure they'll be getting around to having more FS stuff once
the X-Files is over...

- Two pretty different comic illustration styles can be found in the two stories
told in this two-part Farscape comic book. Either way, Chi looks great as always...Check out War Torn parts one and two.
-

cons. You can buy lots of Farscape photographs here. Oh, and don't
forget to pick up a shot glass for all the drinking going on during the next epic hiatus...
-

- Place to buy Farscape posters--kinda pricey lithographs--some
autographed. Nice quality though.
Gaming, Animation, Effects, and Merchandise

creating the Farscape PC game. It's due out sometime this summer.

- Keep up with Red Lemon's progress courtesy of SciFi.com. They are nice enough to provide us with sneak previews of the interface and let us in on lots of great info.
- Yoram Gross EM TV
- This well-established and famous Australian animation house handled the animation homage to Warner Brothers we were treated with in Revenging Angel.
- Animal Logic
- Animal Logic is the Australian effects house that does the amazing visual effects we have come to love. They are also the same house that handles Visual Effects for the Matrix. Wouldn't it be cool to work there? ;)

Screencapping
- How to Create a Perfect Screenshot Painlessly
- This site includes information on how to do a full screen capture—whatever you are actually seeing on your screen. It then gives you instructions on how to take that capture and open it up in another utility such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc. where you can manipulate the screen capture to fit your needs. There are also some links at the bottom of the page for some different types of paint and screen capping software.
- Techsmith
- A site that explains details of a program called Snap It, which is another screen capping software. The site gives product news, latest highlights, customer spotlights and technical support including some FAQs.
- Hyperionics
- Information on several different types of screen capture software—HyperSnap DX and HyperCam. Gives product information, downloads and technical support.
- Screen Catcher (for Mac)
- Screen Catcher is a screen capture application capable of taking snapshots of screen images and saving them as PICT, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PNG, Photoshop, SGI, MacPaint,TGA, and QuickTime files. It also allows images to be captured to the clipboard, the printer, or to Screen Catcher's own windows, where they can be manipulated to change the color palette or reduce the number of colors in the image before copying, printing, or saving.

- Software for the MAC that allows users to save anything visible on screen in a variety of image file formats including .bmp, .pict, .gif, .jpg, .png, .tiff, .pdf, or photoshop files as well as record on-screen action as a Quick Time movie. - Intervideo
- Product profile on the WinDVD software. This is a DVD software player that allows you to do screen caps from any DVD that you're watching on your computer. Fonts
- FontGarden
- This is one of my favorite places to go do download Free fonts for both Mac and PC. Type is displayed nicely and easily downloaded in stuffed or zipped formats. One huge word of caution: The Pop-up ads can be a killer on this site. Be sure to disable them or the scripts that launch them before you go browsing.
- AGFA Type Foundry
- Housing over 7,000 fonts for both Mac and PC. You have to pay for them though. No freebies here. It's worth it though.
- Adobe
- Another pay-for-them place, but Adobe has some of the best type families around. You can buy them in bundles or separately.
- Acid Fonts
- Free fonts for both Mac and PC and broken down by font style. Also a gateway to links to other free font sites.
- MacFonts
- This site is basically a table of other places to get free mac fonts. The good thing about it is that it tells you which sites have pop-up ads. To me, besides the many other links it provides, that is key.
Design Software
- Adobe
- In my opinion, this should be your one and only stop to shop for software to help you do any kind of computer design or illustration work. It has EVERYTHING. Adobe is the maker of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Pagemaker, Acrobat, and many other useful items.
- Quark Express
- For anyone doing design layout and composition, Quark is currently the Industry standard for print media. The newest update is getting into helping with web design too.
- Macromedia
- If you are looking for some great web design and illustration software, this is the place to go. Macromedia makes Dreamweaver, Flash, Shockwave, and Freehand.
- Corel
- Corel is the maker of Corel Draw and PhotoPaint. Both similar to Photoshop in many respects. Corel, however, seems to be used more on PC's than Macs. Not a bad program at all.
- Mike's Sketchpad
- This is a huge resource for anyone wanting to learn different applications on both Macs or PCs. There are many tutorials not to mention fonts. Definitely a place worth starting from.
- Graphics Unleashed
- This site has reviews of all kinds of software for both Mac and PC, plus a Tips and Tricks section complete with tutorials.
- Eric's Effects
- For lots of Photoshop downloads and Plugins, this is a good place to go.
Icons, Winamp Skins & Desktop Themes
- IconFactory
- This is the place that gave us the desktop icons from "Revenging Angel." You can find many more there as well as information on how to make your own.
- HuntFor
- You're going to be seeing HuntFor in several places on this site. They are a great place to start looking for almost anything. In this case we are linking you to cursor and icon editing software.
- Theme Archives
- A quick tutorial giving the basics for creating your own desktop themes.
- Theme World
- The help page will guide you in making desktop themes, but the whole site caters to all things desktop--from software recs to fonts, wallpapers, screensavers and more. If you look hard enough, you can even find some Farscape Wallpapers here. And if that's not what you want, perhaps an ALF screensaver is more your liking...
- Desktop Links
- Pretty much what the name says. A link warehouse to find or make cool stuff for your desktop.
- Nullsoft's Winamp
- The makers of Winamp have a great site for downloading skins, the software, and music, and if you check out their "Development" section, you'll find out from the horse's mouth how to make them. Definitely the place to start.
- Winamp Skins
- This site has a ton of skins for you to download, but it also has a tutorial on making them as well. You can also submit skins you have made to this site.
- CNet
- Cnet has a step-by-step tutorial on making winamp skins as well as a ton of information on software to do the job.
- Topdownloads
- A similar instruction as others on making wimamp skins only this one has a more detailed chart with details on all the images that make up a winamp skin.

Drawing, Illustration, Painting--Great Places to Start
- WannaLearn
- This site has links to all kinds of visual arts tutorials and demonstrations as well as book, software, and video reccommendations. A very thorough resource for drawing painting, and computer art.
- HuntFor

- World Wide Learn
- An enormous list of on-line art courses and lessons--some paid and some free. Quite a selection to choose from if you want to draw, paint, illustrate, animate, or just get some art appreciation.
- Fantasy Art Resource Project
- If you've ever wanted to do or been a fan of Fantasy art but didn't know where to begin, this is a great place to go. Different artists write about the techniques they use to create their work and much of it is truly outstanding. Go there and learn!
- Art Papa
- If you are looking for video instruction, lessons on all different fine art skills, or people to talk to or ask questions about them, then ArtPapa is the place for you.
- The Magic of Painting
- More great columns by more great artists demonstrating their techniques in painting, watercolor, and drawing.
- Sue Dickenson's Art of Africa
- Ms. Dickenson has some really beautiful art and she gives a demonstration on how she does it. She captures movement with very little effort. One of the best techniques to use would be the portrait--definitely worth studying.
- Sander's Studios
- This is a site for the work of Ron Sanders but it also has some great articles as well as tutorials and techniques and definitions. A good basis for oil and watercolor painting.
- Lavendera's Fine Art and Gifts
- Kind of one-stop shopping if you want to learn how to paint *and* need to pick up a gift. This site has some great painting techniques. Plus it has a painting forum. Kinda cool for a place trying to make a profit!
- Art Renewal Center
- This is the largest on-line museum of it's kind. Some really really beautiful paintings here. I had to throw it in just because. It does have some articles about techniques and different art movements, but it's mostly just a lovely site. If you like it, you could donate to keep it up and running.

Music Videos How-To's
In another article we will discuss
making music videos in detail. For now take note that to be effective
in making music videos it helps to be well-versed also in computer
lingo (don't be shy). If you are so inclined, here's a link extravaganza
to a variety of resources from basics to PC and Mac resources as well
as reference/glossary links. This is a giant section, so I skipped
the descriptions as some of the headers are self explanatory anyway.

Multi-artist
-
Farscape Create
- One of my favorite places to recruit from. One of the best fan
art galleries around and easy on the eyes... LJ is quite the patron
of the arts!
-
Farscape Fantasy
- Short of paying Dallascaper to link to his site, we can't stress
enough all the wonderful things you will find at Farscape Fantasy.
New art and videos are added regularly.
-
Kieriahn's Starcharts--Portrait Tiers
- Another wonderful place to go find several of your favorite artist's
work.
Individual Artists
-
CoolerCreations
- Just in case I haven't pushed this one enough, you really should
go see Adam Hastings amazing web site. Take your time to poke around
and enjoy all the goodies and polished work he has done. And don't
just go once, check back 'cause Adam likes to redo his site.
-
Tropica's Art
- Some pretty funky stuff--plus, she's a big Chiana fan! Check out
the wallpapers, anigifs, and a really cool pop art take on Jool.
-
Lyme's Paranoid Citroid
- Lyme has a...well...twisted sense of humor. And we love it! Lots of goodies here--wallpapers, videos (Shadowboxer--A+), and some crazy photoshop stuff (can you say, PimpDaddy Rygel?).
-
Richard's Farscape Homepage
- Check out Richard's nifty animations. There's D'Argo's Qualta Blade and a DRD with all the right sound! I believe with some prodding and a little hope, Richard might get his Pilot animation done sometime...
-
Poly Karbon
- There isn't much Farscape stuff here, but I couldn't resist. Because
there is one really cool anime version of Chiana...also a nifty
work in permanent progress cast sketch. Oh, and here PK stands for
PolyKarbon--don't get confused.
