tip or treat of the month artists on art dmadhatters column artist Interviews
Farscape brings together the best of many worlds--writing, acting, musical scoring, animatronics--but it is the visuals that allow us to suspend our disbelief and make us feel we are truly "somewhere in the universe." It takes both amazing design work and cutting edge computer graphics to accomplish such a feat on a weekly basis but the results are...inspiring.

ScapeRoute is lucky enough to be able to bring you some of the gifted and talented inspirees who manifest their Farcosis through art--be it drawings, paintings, cartoons, wallpapers, music videos, or animation.

The Drawing Board will be back next month with a new interview. Thanks for bearing with us!

Famous Artists
Artist's Perspective
Writings by a couple dozen famous artists either from their letters, interviews, and their own writings. Read what Cezanne, Cassatt, da Vinci, Matisse, O'Keefe, Pollock, and Van Gogh had to say about their art.

Chuck Jones:
Obviously if you saw "Revenging Angel" you know that Chuck Jones has had an impact on even the folks at Farscape. Visit one of the fathers of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Elmer Fudd. And when you are done there, go on over to the The Hall of Artists to read a lengthy interview with Chuck Jones about his career and work.

H. R. Giger:
The official web site of the artist who brought you the Alien series of movies. You can find some interesting short articles about his work by different people like Timothy Leary and Deborah Harry. Really. I'm not kidding. While you are there, be sure to order yourself a snowboard and one of his chairs. Those chairs make the Aurora Chair look like a LazyBoy.

Not-so-Famous Artists
3-D Artists
Amazing Gallery of 3D art by various artists, interviews with over 20 artists discussing their process. Also includes some tutorials for specific software.

Gallery of Slavek Wojtowicz:
A medical doctor by trade, and SF artist by choice, this site has some incredible art on it belonging to the good doctor. You can also find some of his stories and interviews with notables like Asimov and Le Guin. Where he finds the time for all this, I'll never know. And if that doesn't impress you, go check out his massive database of SF artists. Truly an astonishing amount of information and people to be inspired by.

International Assciation of Atronomical Artists:
If you want to check out a cool gallery of spacey stuff, this is where to go. All different artists are represented here. Take a look at their magazine exerpts from Pulsar too.

American Animation v. Japanese Anime:
Someone took the time to explain in great detail why he/she thinks that American Animation far exceeds the quality of Japanese Anime. You be the judge...
